The mid year speaking test is based on parts 1, 2 & 3 of the CAE speaking exam.

So far, we haven't had much practice of part 3 so here is a video link to an example of part 3.

How to play.
The idea of this game is to predict as many correct results as possible. You will be awarded points depending on how accurate your predictions are.

How to register.
Click here to enter the Tipschallenge website and fill in the registration details. An email will be sent to your email address. Log into your mail and click on the link to activate your account.

How to join IH Buenos Aires League.
Once you have registered you can join the International House Buenos Aires League by clicking on Manage Private League (on the left). In Join Private League, enter the following code: 95063. On the right, click on Enter Tips and predict the results of all the games of the 2010 World Cup. Submit Tips when you have finished. The more results you get right, the more points you win. On the right, click on IH Buenos Aires League to find the Forum where you can discuss the World Cup with other students from IH Buesnos Aires.

How to join IH World Organisation League.
In Manage Private Leagues, click on Join Private League and enter code: 97383. In the Forum, you can chat to other IH students around the world and practise your English!

Scotland's most haunted house?

Some people say there are more haunted houses in Scotland than in any other country. Do you believe that a house can be haunted? Have you ever seen a ghost?

IH Fantasy Football

FANTASY FOOTBALL

With the greatest sporting event in the world bearing down on us, we thought it a good idea to up the stakes a wee bit.
We've set up a fantasy football league just for International House Recoleta students and of course there will be a fantastic prize for the winner!!!

What is Fantasy Football?
Have you ever dreamed of being the next Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson or Diego Maradona? Well fantasy football allows us all to see how good we would be in the hot seat. The game gives you 150 units. Each player has a value of between 1-10 units. Before the World Cup starts you must select 23 players using your 150 units. Then during the World Cup your players score points for each goal, pass, save assist etc they make. The team at the end of the competition with the most points wins! Simple! The key to success is to actively manage your team throughout the competition changing some injured/out of form players for in-form/healthy players.

How to play
Click here to go to the FIFA World Cup Fantasy website where you can create an account. (it takes 4 minutes) Then join our private league by typing in the league code 161381-73062. It's called the IH Buenos Aires Cup. It's totally free. You will be able to pick your team on 4th June. There is a forum where you can post comments about the league/other teams etc.
